Movie Story
Raabta, directed by Dinesh Vijan, is a reincarnation love story set in Budapest and the fictional past. Shiv Kakkar (Sushant Singh Rajput) moves from Amritsar to Budapest for work with best friend Radha (Varun Sharma). Shiv soon meets Saira Singh (Kriti Sanon), a chocolatier haunted by nightmares and a traumatic past involving water. Despite already being in a relationship, Saira is drawn to Shiv and their affection grows, eventually ending her relationship with Manav (Vikas Verma).
Saira’s new romance is thrown into jeopardy when she’s kidnapped by Zakir Merchant (Jim Sarbh), who claims their bond goes back to a previous life Saira was Saiba, a warrior princess, Zakir was Qaabir her obsessed suitor, and Shiv was Jilaan, the love of Saiba’s life. Zakir tries to convince Saira to leave Shiv and join him to correct the tragedy of their past. Shiv fights for Saira, leading to a dramatic confrontation, sacrifices, and the ultimate quest for a peaceful future. The story carries themes of destiny, passion across lifetimes, and forgiveness.
