Movie Story
Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan, is a quintessential Bollywood comedy about three eccentric underdogs Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Sunil Shetty), and Baburao “Babu Bhaiya” Apte (Paresh Rawal). All financially broke and constantly bickering, they stumble into a madcap kidnapping plot when a wrong number links them to a dangerous gangster, Kabeera (Gulshan Grover), demanding ransom for the industrialist Devi Prasad’s granddaughter. What follows is a chaotic series of blunders and slapstick plans as the trio tries to double the ransom, entangle rival criminals, and figure out how to escape with their lives and some cash.
Their mix of greed, friendship, blunders, and hilarious one-liners like Babu Bhaiya’s “Utha le re baba!” give the film its cult status. With memorable twists, confrontations, and a final comic misunderstanding, Hera Pheri delivers heart, laughter, and a wild ride through Mumbai’s underbelly.
