Movie Story
Jab We Met, directed by Imtiaz Ali, is a beloved Bollywood romantic comedy about destiny, transformation, and love. The story follows Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor), a depressed businessman lost in heartbreak, who impulsively boards a train in Mumbai and meets Geet Dhillon (Kareena Kapoor), a vibrant and endlessly talkative Punjabi woman. When Aditya leaves the train at a random station, Geet follows him both end up stranded, beginning an adventurous journey through North India.
Geet insists Aditya help her return home to Bhatinda, prompting a series of misadventures, comedic mishaps, and heartfelt confessions. On the way, Aditya slowly sheds his sorrow, influenced by Geet’s optimism. At Geet’s home, the chemistry between them creates confusion, leading her family to believe Aditya is her suitor. When Geet reveals her plans to elope with her boyfriend Anshuman, Aditya helps her escape, and they part ways. Months later, Aditya, now successful and transformed, searches for Geet after her family seeks his help. He discovers Geet heartbroken and reclusive after being rejected by Anshuman.
